COLLECTING CANDY — Our Savior Lutheran Church in Eagle River held its annual trunk-or-treat event on Halloween evening, Oct. 31, where kids could show up in costume and collect candy from decorated vehicles in the church parking lot. While Eagle River has no designated trick-or-treating hours, costumed kids could then head out into the surrounding residential area to collect more goodies at participating homes. HALLOWEEN HIGHLIGHTS — Phelps celebrated Halloween with plenty of community spirit, from downtown trunk-or-treat fun to the Phelps School Halloween Bash and neighborhood trick-or-treating. BOO BASH — The staff and volunteers at the Land O’ Lakes Library pulled out all the stops once again for their annual Halloween Boo Bash. Kids enjoyed exploring fire trucks and an ambulance, playing games among the inflatables, and warming up by the fire pit while making s’mores. Hot dogs, popcorn, and coffee kept everyone fueled, and each child got to pick out a storybook to take home. A spooky highlight was the haunted passageway.—Photos By Bob Hughes

HEADWATERS HALLOWEEN – The staff at Headwaters State Bank welcomed students from Land O’ Lakes Elementary and SOAR Charter School for some trick-or-treating around the offices last week. The bank’s costume theme this year was “Storybooks,” featuring characters from Daniel Boone, The Jungle Book, Charlotte’s Web, Amelia Bedelia, The Poky Little Puppy, Little Red Riding Hood, and Winnie the Pooh. —Photo By Bob Hughes
