With the mild fall weather this year, nothing has pushed the bluejays southward, though many stay in Wisconsin during a mild winter. Their loud “jay, jay” calls are easy to distinguish from other birds, and some hunters associate their calls with forest intruders, including deer on the move.—Staff Photo By KURT KRUEGER
