WTC reaches over half of fundraising goal

Donations to Warm The Children (WTC), a program that provides winter clothing to qualified families, have been steadily coming in.

Approximately 54% of the fundraising goal of $80,000 has been met at this time, according to program coordinator Nancy Brandner.

WTC is sponsored by the Vilas County News-Review, under the auspices of the Eagle River Rotary Foundation. All donations are used to purchase clothing for area children, and the News-Review picks up all administrative costs.

“Every donation, no matter how large or small, is greatly appreciated. Donations can be made in memory of or in honor of loved ones,” said Brandner.

Checks can be made out to “Warm The Children” and mailed to: Vilas County News-Review, P.O. Box 1929, Eagle River, WI 54521, or dropped off at the News-Review office located at 425 Mill St. in Eagle River. Online donations can be made at vcnewsreview.com on the home page.

Monetary donations are tax-deductible and are under the auspices of the Eagle River Rotary Club Foundation, a 501(c)(3) entity.

“To date, we have been able to send approximately 257 children shopping,” Brandner stated. That number is slightly more than half of the number for the season.

Shopping began Nov. 2 this year and will continue through mid-December. Applications are available by stopping into the News-Review office.
