Northland Pines junior Jonah Will is a one-sport athlete for the Eagles, playing just baseball in the spring. While not a school-sanctioned team, he also enjoys snowboarding in the winter and golfing in the summer. After high school, Will plans on taking a gap year to work in his parents’ business and then potentially go to college for marketing or business. Here is more on the Pines senior:
Is there a personal goal you have on the field this year?
“My goal for this baseball season is to be productive behind the plate and keep the errors low at shortstop. I also want to be a leader on the field and a positive influence on the underclassmen. These are my goals because I believe they will help us win baseball games and improve our team.”
What other hobbies do you have outside of sports?
Why did you choose baseball as your sport?
“Baseball is my favorite sport because of the connections you make with teammates and coaches. I enjoy the thrill of each at-bat and every play. I like how every pitch matters and how one moment can change the whole game.”
Favorite vacation spot that you’ve been to?
“My favorite vacation spot that I’ve been to is Mazatlan, Mexico. I enjoyed spending time in the sun, relaxing and swimming in the ocean. I ate a lot of good food and made a lot of great memories.”
Do you have any plans for after high school? College?
“As of right now, I am planning on taking a gap year after high school. I plan to work at my parents’ business to learn about entrepreneurship and real-world business skills. I hope to travel a lot and take time to learn more about myself throughout the year. After my gap year, I may go to college for marketing or business.”
